    Smile

I had to drag this out from the second page just so I could tell everyone that I got a job! A job that pays more than minimum wage! I'm so proud of myself. Anyway, add cashier at Wal-Mart to my employment list. smile

*hugs herself in pure joy* Wal-Mart is the best place to work here. smile

    Happy, happy Fasheem

Must have missed this one in the first go-round. Or I wasn't feeling as talkative... *shrug*

Let's see...currently I'm a network administrator by day (which allows me to check on this board pretty much any time I want) and manage a comic/toy/game shop by night. The main perk of this is getting to read the Marvel books a week early thanks to their Sneak Peek program.

My degree is in Chemistry (B.S. '96 from West Virginia University, with a specialization in analytical chem, and 3 creds shy of a minor in German). I did genetic research for the government for two years before they cut funding on my project and I had to work at Staples. That lasted all of 3 days before they found more money for the project AND I got a job offer as a network admin (which is why I am where I am now).

During college I worked at the local comic shop almost the full 4 years I was in school (didn't get hired until the first week of October freshman year). I also worked in the chem lab, filling unknowns for various labs.

In high school, I helped out with my parents' nursery and landscaping business.

And...oh yeah, there was that time a few years back when I was working for Marvel. On a project involving Nightcrawler.

I was on the design team for the last two OverPower sets and designed the Nightcrawler promo card for the X-Men 35th Anniversary set, only available online. It was called "Blindside" and allowed Nightcrawler to attack three times in a row. There were several other cards I had a hand in, but I made it pretty clear up front that Nightcrawler was my territory and mine alone...no one argued. Don't know if anyone here has played OP, but it's a great game. I also designed the Nightcrawler card that was going to be in the next expansion - "Tactical Teleport" - but Marvel sold the CCG rights to Wizards of the Coast before it was produced. *sigh* I did get to fly to Miami, Chicago, and San Diego on Marvel's dime though, so not too bad. And I did get paid for it. The check had Spidey on it and everything.

Those have been the major things...not bad for being in my mid-20s...although to most of you, I must seem positively ancient!
